This year I’ve had quite a few, and the last one ended just a week ago. And you know what – if before it I was so tired of business challenges that I even thought about selling everything, I came back from the holiday as if with a brand-new engine. 🚀
I see opportunities again, I’m thinking about how to grow the business and the team, and nothing seems insurmountable anymore. I simply found new energy. ✨
When I go on holiday, I always leave my phone number at work. I have social media, I can check my email and I can contact the team if I want to. But at least I take myself out of the constant stream of calls.
Once, when I found myself talking more than once about VAT registration or reports not submitted to Sodra (the State Social Insurance Fund) while travelling, I realised that a holiday like that is no holiday at all. 😅
A person needs to step away from work, at least for a while, and allow themselves to enjoy simple life – to be here and now.
I keep telling my team the same thing. I encourage them to take holidays regularly. We have one rule: whatever happens, we don’t disturb a colleague who is on holiday. We solve every situation as a team, without her.
And you know what? It works. Our colleague comes back rested, glowing and full of new energy. And later, with the same understanding and willingness, she covers for those who once covered for her.
A rested person always comes back stronger. And it’s not only they who benefit, but the whole team and the business too.❤️
