Do I need incorporation documents or share capital to set up a sole proprietorship?
No, a sole proprietorship does not require incorporation documents or capital - just a registration form.
Can I carry out several activities with one sole trader?
Yes, it is possible to select several individual activity codes according to the Economic Activity Classification (EAC).
What is the tax liability of the operator of an IDV?
IDVs pay personal income tax (PIT), PSD and SSD. The amount of payments depends on the accounting method chosen and the income.
Can I hire employees as a sole trader?
No, an IDV cannot be an employer - it is a personal activity. However, it is possible to collaborate with other self-employed persons or use subcontractors.
How long does it take to register a sole trader?
Registration of an IDV through the Tax Inspectorate (VMI) system is very fast - it is usually approved on the same day, and the individual activity certificate is generated immediately after registration.
