In construction, a builder’s ID number is mandatory.
ALL people working in construction are required to have a construction worker ID number.
It allows you to identify who is working on the site and whether all employees are working legally.
Construction is one of the most shadowed sectors in Lithuania. The Construction Worker ID helps fight illegal work and “envelopes”.
Who is required to have an ID number?
- Construction workers with employment contracts
- Construction workers posted to Lithuania from other countries
- Construction workers working under IDV
How do I get an ID code?
Employees can:
Log in to your personal Sodros account as a resident, select the menu item “Transparent Employee ID” and download your code in real time
Visit a Sodros office (pre-registration required)
Your employer can:
Log in to your Sodros account as a policyholder
Select the column “S54. Information on Transparent Worker IDs granted”
Download multiple ID codes for employees at the same time
WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO CHECK IDS?
State Labour Inspectorate, State Tax Inspectorate, FNTT, Police, the builder (developer) or his authorised contractor.
