GPAIS is the Product, Packaging and Waste Accounting Information System for companies to declare packaging, product and waste accounting data to public authorities.
Who is obliged to register with GPAIS?
All companies that import, produce or use packaging, products or waste are required to register with the GPAIS and to provide an account of their activities.
Why do I need to complete GPAIS?
The GPAIS is necessary to enable the State to monitor packaging and waste management and to ensure that companies comply with their environmental obligations under the legislation.
Who needs GPAIS accounting?
GPAIS accounting is needed to accurately record the quantities of packaging, products and waste and to ensure their correct declaration and traceability.
What are the penalties for failing to keep proper GPAIS records?
Failure to keep proper GPAIS records can result in fines ranging from several hundred to several thousand euros, depending on the scale and repetition of the infringement.
Who needs a GPAIS report?
The GPAIS report is needed for a company to correctly declare the quantities of packaging, products and waste and to demonstrate compliance with environmental requirements.
How can a company outsource the completion of GPAIS to another company (e.g. an accounting company)?
An undertaking may outsource the completion of the GPAIS to another undertaking by granting it authority over the GPAIS and concluding a service contract.
Is packaging accounting compulsory for all businesses?
Accounting for packaging is only compulsory for companies that supply goods with packaging on the market or import packaged goods.
Who should report to GPAIS?
Companies that manufacture, import or supply for the first time in Lithuania packaging, products or equipment, including electronic goods and vehicles.

The late report should be submitted as soon as possible and the reason for the delay should be given.
