When is it necessary to register for an EORI code?
An EORI code is required if the company or individual carries out import, export or transit operations with non-EU countries.
Where do I go to get an EORI code?
You need to apply via the Customs Declaration System (MDAS) or via the VMI/Customs Self-Service System, usually by an authorised person or accountant.
How long does it take to get an EORI code?
The EORI code is usually issued on the same or next working day if the documents are submitted correctly.
Is the EORI code valid throughout the EU?
Yes - the EORI code is valid in all EU countries and is used in the common customs system.
Can a natural person also have an EORI code?
Yes - natural persons can also obtain an EORI code if they are engaged in commercial activities involving the movement of goods across the EU border.
