I am the manager and owner of an accounting services company. Across two companies I have a team of 27 people, and together we keep the books for around 450 companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can’t say we’re doing badly \u2013 quite the opposite. This year as many as 5 clients came back to us! It seems some businesses have to see for themselves how much a strong accounting team by their side really means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet we constantly live in a world of change. It happens not only in legislation, but also within the team, among clients and in everyday situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
450 clients means 450 managers, with different situations and expectations. Sometimes the “auras” of an accountant and a client just don’t match \u2013 and we have to change the person in charge. Sometimes clients leave and come back a year later. Another change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another challenge is people. In accounting you are constantly living in deadline mode \u23f3, so employees face considerable pressure and responsibility. Not everyone can handle it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And sometimes life just happens \ud83d\ude0a This year we’re sending as many as three employees on parental leave \u2013 if Lithuania is talking about a birth-rate problem, the situation in our company is certainly excellent \ud83d\udc76<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the team grows, more practical questions arise \u2013 additional workstations, new processes, larger premises. When our neighbours moved out of the adjacent premises, we moved too \u2013 now we have more room to grow \ud83c\udfe2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes it feels as if all the changes hit at once. But at the same time I know \u2013 everything will work out, everything will be fine \ud83d\udcaa<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83d\udccc When you start a business or become a new manager, you certainly can’t foresee all the changes and challenges ahead. But perhaps that’s the whole point of the journey. So to everyone just starting out, I wish patience, courage and not being afraid of change \ud83c\udf2a\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
